A phishing website may differ from a real one by just one letter in the address or an unexpected domain zone. This was warned by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow.

For example, if a company's official resource is usually in the .ru zone, but a link leads to a similar address in .com, this is already a reason to be wary. Scammers deliberately make pages as similar as possible to the originals so that the user does not notice the substitution and enters their login, password, or bank details.

You can get to such a copy via a link in a message or even through a search. Therefore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs advises not to go to important services via unfamiliar links, but to open them through the official application or independently enter the known website address.

Even a minimal difference in the URL can mean that the user is not looking at a real resource, but a page created to steal data and money.
