Russian warships are getting a new configuration. Instead of a helicopter, an autonomous combat module of the Tor-M2KM anti-aircraft missile system is placed on the deck, reported "Voennoye Obozreniye".

The main advantage of the module is that it does not need to be integrated into the ship's hull. All main components of the complex are assembled in a single structure that can be installed on a suitable platform.

If necessary, the "Tor" is installed on the deck, and after the threat of an air attack is removed, the module can be dismantled and the platform returned to its standard use.

Military analysts explained that "Tor-M2KM" is a new modification of "Tor-M2" in a modular design, which differs by the absence of a chassis.

The new complex is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 15 km and simultaneously engaging four targets.
