The installation of a modular power plant based on the NK-37 takes only 60 days – three times faster than building a stationary facility. The 25.5 MW unit is designed to operate in extreme climatic conditions and can use both gas and diesel fuel. This was reported by ODK.

The problem solved by the developers is not so much related to the generation itself as to the timing of its appearance. A stationary power plant requires design and site preparation, while a modular design is designed for accelerated deployment.

ODK proposes to use such units not only for permanent energy supply, but also as a mobile power reserve that can be transferred to regions in case of a deficit.

The basis of the unit was the NK-37 – an energy version of the NK-32 aircraft engine used on the Tu-160 strategic bomber. The designers of ODK-Kuznetsov used an aircraft gas generator and added a free power turbine that drives the electric generator.

According to ODK, the power unit has a capacity of 25.5 MW, the overhaul life reaches 25 thousand hours, and the assigned life cycle resource is 100 thousand hours.

The line of power plants created on the basis of NK-37 includes variants with a capacity of 25 and 32 MW. They are designed to operate on both natural gas and diesel fuel, and the design is adapted to extreme climatic conditions and requires minimal site preparation.
