AvtoVAZ has produced several hundred pre-production Lada Azimut vehicles in Tolyatti and continues to prepare the new crossover for serial production. During a recent "stress test," 50–60 vehicles were simultaneously placed on the assembly line to test and refine the assembly technology under real working conditions.

The test is needed to see how the production process works on a large batch of cars at once. At this stage, specialists refine technological and assembly processes before the full-scale launch of the model into serial production.

The exact date for the start of serial production has not yet been announced. It is known that production will begin in September. According to the production plan confirmed by AvtoVAZ, several thousand commercial Azimut vehicles are expected to roll off the assembly line by the end of 2026, and in 2027, volumes will increase to tens of thousands of cars.

Initially, the crossover will be equipped with two naturally aspirated engines. The base 1.6-liter engine develops 120 hp and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.8-liter engine with 135 hp will get a variator.

Later, the engine range should be supplemented by a 150-hp turbo engine paired with a classic "automatic" transmission.

In terms of functional equipment, the Lada Azimut promises to be one of the richest Lada models in history. The crossover will feature a multimedia system with Sber online and offline services, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic roof with a sunroof, an electric tailgate, and a surround-view camera.

Another feature is electric heating of the side windows, which is called unique for the global automotive industry.

Earlier, AvtoVAZ also revealed the features of seat production for the new crossover. They will be the first production seats in the company's cars with a full set of electric adjustments.
