The Kazan Aircraft Plant (part of JSC Tupolev) will focus on producing modern airliners in the near future. This was stated by Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of Tatarstan, during his visit to the enterprise.

He met with KAZ employees and with the managing director of JSC Tupolev, Yuri Abrosimov. The head of the republic called the plant a "world-class production facility" and pointed to the role of the country's president, Vladimir Putin, in this.

When the conversation turned to long-range aviation, he decided to restore the Tu-160. We are now building a completely new production facility.

Minnikhanov clarified that the republic plans to launch the production of modern aircraft.

It should be noted that the key product of KAZ in the civil sector is the Tu-214 airliners, and there are plans to increase production to 20 units per year.

However, aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" that even producing five aircraft a year would be a huge success. The problem lies in the large amount of manual labor, and the production process takes a long time.
