A group of developers in Sverdlovsk Oblast has proposed a scheme for a new radar system to protect important water areas from naval drones. Its unusual feature is two spatially separated transmit-receive antenna arrays, with the distance between them being only 10–20 cm. The documentation was placed in the FIPS database.

The system is built using MIMO technology, where multiple antenna elements simultaneously participate in transmitting and receiving signals. By processing data from different angles, the radar should obtain more detailed information about the target's position.

The application states that range resolution depends on the wavelength, the distance to the object, and the effective size of the antenna system. Therefore, the two arrays were placed in the same plane with a small spatial separation.

The radar is specifically designed to counter naval drones, whose detection is complicated by the low flight altitude of the devices above water and the peculiarities of radio signal propagation near the surface.

The system includes a master and receiver channels, an antenna array, a microcontroller, a digital frequency synthesizer, mixers, amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, and software signal processing.
