Pantsir-series systems have become Russia's primary short-range air defense assets, according to the American publication Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

Analysts noted that Pantsirs combine surveillance and tracking radar stations with surface-to-air missiles and automatic cannons, allowing them to repel various aerial threats at relatively short distances.

As small drones and loitering munitions play an increasingly important role, Pantsir systems have proven particularly effective in countering them.

It is emphasized that the Pantsir specifically provides a mobile last-layer defense line around important objects.

Earlier, it became known that the Pantsir-S1M SAM systems in the Moscow region received new TKB-1055 Gvozd short-range missiles for protection against drones.
