Arkhangelsk shipbuilders have completed the construction of the Kola tug (Project A273) at the facilities of the Sevmash-Shelf enterprise (Severodvinsk). This was reported by the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The tug underwent mooring and sea trials, during which its declared technical characteristics were confirmed. The Kola vessel is designed for piloting and maneuvering (turning in place) vessels in ports and their approaches, towing floating craft and objects, and assisting vessels in emergency situations. The tug is adapted for operation in Arctic waters.

Main characteristics of Project A273 vessels:

• Length — 16.8 m
• Width — 5.4 m
• Draft — 2.03 m
• Total main engine power — 1116 kW
• Displacement — 100 t

Sevmash-Shelf (a subsidiary of PO Sevmash) was founded in 1999. The shipyard is part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) and specializes in the creation of technical and auxiliary fleets.
