Tractor drivers will be able to present an electronic license, issued through the "Gosuslugi Auto" application, starting from March 1, 2027. The digital version will be legally equivalent to the traditional paper document.

The self-propelled vehicle driver will show the traffic police inspector their license in the form of a QR code on their smartphone screen. The inspector will scan it with their tablet and receive information from the State Traffic Inspectorate database about the license category.

The "Gosuslugi Auto" application also stores a digital copy of the vehicle registration certificate (STS). The introduction of the QR code will simplify the document verification procedure.

Drivers will be able to forgo carrying their driver's licenses constantly. It will be enough to have a smartphone with the installed application.

The Russian Ministry of Digital Development launched the "Gosuslugi Auto" application in September 2021. As of January 2026, it is used by about 20 million people.
