The Indian Armed Forces are considering implementing a third layer of defense against fiber-optic drones for their T-90S tanks – their own interceptors. The traditional electronic warfare system is powerless against them, as there is no radio channel to jam, IDRW agency noted.

This scheme should close the gap between EW and active protection. The interceptor does not depend on the attacking drone's radio channel: it detects the target and hits it directly in the air.
The concept has already received practical development. At international exhibitions, India has demonstrated compact drones launched from armored vehicles and designed specifically to intercept aerial targets.
In May, the Indian enterprise Heavy Vehicles Factory built the 1000th T-90S tank under a Russian license.
Ivan Grachev, a researcher at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that Russia earned 6 billion dollars from T-90S deliveries to India throughout their cooperation.
