1000th T-90 tank built outside Russia

The anniversary combat vehicle rolled off the assembly line at the Heavy Vehicles Factory in India

The Indian enterprise Heavy Vehicles Factory has built the 1000th T-90S tank under Russian license. This was reported by the state association Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited.

The Russian-Indian intergovernmental agreement on the licensed production of 1000 tanks with the assistance of Uralvagonzavod was concluded in 2006, but then it was extended.

The first 10 T-90S tanks built in India were handed over to the Indian army in August 2009. Also, between 2001 and 2010, India received 675 tanks produced by UVZ, including 248 ready-made and 409 in the form of kits.

Ivan Grachev, a researcher at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that Russia earned 6 billion dollars from T-90S deliveries to India throughout the cooperation period.
