Lada Niva Legend drivers sometimes make a serious mistake off-road, AvtoVAZ warned. When faced with a difficult obstacle, motorists start pressing the gas pedal harder, which can cause the car to get stuck even deeper. The company explained how to deal with the problem.

Even an SUV's capabilities have their limits. Therefore, on a difficult section, you should not rely solely on the car's technical characteristics and try to overcome the obstacle at all costs.

If the driver doubts the chosen trajectory or is unsure of their decision, experienced Niva owners do not continue driving at all costs. AvtoVAZ advises stopping, backing up, and re-evaluating the situation. An inexperienced motorist, on the other hand, might floor the gas pedal – and thereby drive the car even deeper.

According to the company, this mistake is due to the driver quickly getting used to the good off-road capability of the Lada Niva Legend. First, they learn to overcome obstacles on the fly, and then gradually begin to pay less attention to the surface under the wheels. However, the SUV's capabilities still require the driver to understand its limits and how to act correctly.

AvtoVAZ also shared the impressions of a motorist who had previously only driven on asphalt. The first trip on a dirt road, sand, or muddy arable land can show them the car's capabilities beyond ordinary roads. With long-term use, the driver gets used to a freer driving style, and after switching to a regular passenger car, they remember the need to be more careful again.

AvtoVAZ emphasizes that the Lada Niva Legend is ideal for the city due to its compact size and high ground clearance. These features are especially useful when driving over curbs and uncleared yards. But the company calls dirt roads, fields, forests, and sandy beaches the main environment for the SUV. High-speed highways, however, are not conditions where a car designed for rural areas should demonstrate its main qualities.

On July 20, 2026, AvtoVAZ launched serial production of the updated LADA Niva Legend. The SUV received a new 1.8-liter engine with 90 hp, its first ever galvanized body parts, and new electronic systems. In total, the car received more than 350 changes.
