The Tagansky Court of Moscow has fined Google and Telegram 3.8 million rubles each. Both companies were found guilty of failing to remove information prohibited in Russia.

Google LLC and Telegram Messenger Inc. were penalized under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. This article provides for the liability of owners of websites and other internet resources for refusing to remove prohibited content or individual pages.

For Telegram, this is far from the first fine. In the first half of 2026 alone, the total amount of penalties imposed on the messenger exceeded 100 million rubles.

Separately, based on three decisions issued in May, Telegram must pay another 18 million rubles.
