Telegram, Pinterest, and the social network Likeme were each fined 3.5 million rubles. The claims arose due to publications that the platforms were supposed to find and block independently.
The services were found guilty under Part 2 of Article 13.50 of the Administrative Offenses Code (failure by a social network owner to monitor and restrict access to information about drug production, methods of committing suicide, or materials with pornographic images of minors).
Twitch may be next on the list: the Tagansky District Court will still consider a similar protocol against the video hosting service.
For Telegram, this is not the first fine for failing to remove prohibited content. Previously, the messenger was fined 3.8 million rubles.
