Mexico plans to increase aluminum purchases from Siberian producers. As Eduardo Villegas Mejías, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the Russian Federation, told TASS at the International Forum of Indigenous Peoples in Krasnoyarsk, the country previously actively bought Siberian aluminum, but now the figures have decreased.

According to the ambassador, the Mexican side intends to find out the reasons for the decline and restore previous volumes, as this direction is of high interest. One of the key suppliers in the region is the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant (KrAZ), whose production capacity exceeds 1 million tons per year, making it one of the largest producers in the world.

Mexico's interest opens up an opportunity for Siberian exporters to partially compensate for sanctions restrictions in traditional markets. The resumption of supplies will require building new logistics and financial mechanisms, but the very fact of the Latin American market's interest confirms the demand for Russian metal. The forum gathered more than 700 participants from 27 regions of the Russian Federation and 14 countries.
