Rosatom is preparing to sign contracts for the manufacturing of equipment for the Primorskaya NPP, the construction of which will begin in December 2027 in the Ussuriysky urban district. This was reported by the Communications Department of the Engineering Division of the state corporation.
Work has begun on preparing for the conclusion of contracts for the manufacture of equipment, including the reactor compartment, turbine hall, automated process control system (APCS) for power units, and melt trap.
Contractors for the construction of a temporary town for workers and the delivery of inert materials will be selected through an open competition. Rosatom believes that specialized Primorsky enterprises will participate in the tenders.
The construction and installation base (warehouses and structures necessary to ensure a continuous production process) for the construction of the Primorskaya NPP will begin to be prepared in September-October 2026. Project documentation for the nuclear facility will be completed by the end of this year.
The Primorskaya NPP will appear near the village of Krasny Yar. The project involves the construction of two power units with VVER-1000 reactors. The total capacity of the station will be 2 GW.
Power unit No. 1 is planned to be commissioned in 2033. The launch of power unit No. 2 is scheduled for 2035.
