Foreign sources report a new version of the "Gerbera" UAV, which received half of the "Geran-2" engine with a working volume of 275 cm³. Due to its lighter design, this power plant improved the aircraft's flight characteristics and, according to available data, allowed the integration of a new 50-kilogram warhead on board.

Previously, the unification of "Gerbera" and "Geran" primarily concerned onboard equipment. Now, the changes have affected the engine.

This solution allows using an already mastered engine on a lighter airframe. Due to the lower mass of the "Gerbera" itself, the power-to-weight ratio becomes higher, which provides an increase in speed and greater payload capacity.

Component unification allows using a common production base and adapting existing solutions for drones of different masses and purposes.

At the same time, the assumption about the redistribution of engine production from "Geran" in favor of the "Gerbera" family cannot yet be considered a confirmed fact. Earlier, active development of jet versions of "Geran" was reported, but this in itself does not mean the cessation of production of piston power plants.
