The turnover of Moscow's IT sector in January-June 2026 reached 3.5 trillion rubles, an increase of 40% year-on-year in comparable prices. This was disclosed by Moscow's Deputy Mayor, Head of the Department of Economic Policy, Maria Bagreeva.

The main contribution to the industry's results came from companies engaged in software development and IT consulting. They accounted for over 75% of the sector's turnover, or almost 2.7 trillion rubles. Their revenue grew by 42% compared to the first half of last year.

Another almost quarter of the industry's revenue came from database developers, hosting providers, web platform operators, and other IT companies. Their turnover amounted to 824 billion rubles, which is more than 35% higher than last year's level.

The Mayor's office also reported that over 37% of the solutions in the Russian software registry were created in Moscow. The city continues to support developers, including through the free cloud platform Mos.Hub, which already has over 30 thousand users and hosts over 34 thousand projects.

Moscow's IT sector is developing in line with the all-Russian trend. We have already reported that Russian software developers increased their revenue by almost a third in a year: according to Rosstat, in January-May 2026 alone, the turnover in the software development and IT consulting segment grew by 41% year-on-year.
