The Russian car brand UMO, in cooperation with "Yandex", has opened pre-orders for the new all-wheel drive D-class hybrid crossover UMO 8. The model will be offered in two trim levels: Max, priced from 4.99 million rubles, and Ultra, from 5.49 million rubles, including subsidies.

What's under the hood of the UMO 8 hybrid

The 340 hp hybrid powertrain provides a range of up to 867 km. All versions of the car feature built-in Yandex services, including the "Alisa" voice assistant. The system supports navigation, multimedia, and a number of car systems.

The equipment also includes "Yandex Maps" with online traffic light information, route display on the head-up display, and remote voice control via "Yandex Station" using Home-to-Car technology.

Base version and Ultra trim

The base version of the crossover received surround-view cameras, electronic driver assistants, a 15.6-inch multimedia screen, a panoramic roof, as well as heated, ventilated, and massage front seats.

The Ultra trim additionally includes automatic parking, Nappa leather and suede interior trim, matrix headlights, a 27-inch head-up display, and an audio system with 22 speakers. Owners of the model will also receive 24/7 support through Yandex services.

How the UMO brand developed

The first model in the lineup — the UMO 5 electric crossover — was introduced in March 2026 with a price tag starting from 2.5 million rubles: it is based on the Chinese GAC Aion Y Plus, adapted for Russian conditions and equipped with the Yandex ecosystem with the "Alisa" voice assistant. In the summer of the same year, official sales of UMO 5 began in two trim levels — "Max" and "Pro" — through a preferential car loan program.

In May 2026, certification of the UMO 8 began in Russia — an all-wheel drive series hybrid, the production of which was planned to be launched at the Moskvich plant. At the same time, information about two proposed trim levels and key electronic options for the top version became known. A little later, the appearance of the model was revealed: the UMO 8 is a localized version of the Chinese GAC S7 with a hybrid scheme, where a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acts as a generator, and two electric motors with a total output of about 340 hp provide traction.
