Yandex's electric car brand Umo has launched its official website and revealed the key characteristics of its first model. Sales are scheduled to start in April 2026, with prices starting from 2.5 million rubles.
The first model is the Umo 5 electric crossover, built on the basis of the Chinese GAC Aion Y Plus 2025, but seriously adapted for Russian roads. Under the hood is a 204-horsepower electric motor and a 63.2 kWh battery. Tests in Russia confirmed a range of 400–420 km on a single charge, with a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
Umo 5 will be assembled at the Moskvich plant. The engineers took into account the Russian specifics: the retractable door handles, which can freeze in the cold, were replaced with classic ones - they are more convenient and reliable in winter.
Inside is the Yandex Electro digital ecosystem with a 14.6-inch screen and a unique interface. Everything is tied to Alice: the voice assistant controls navigation and multimedia, opens the trunk, raises and lowers the windows, and also allows you to remotely warm up the interior.
