"Rosatom" and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund have agreed to support the construction and operation of a wind power plant in the Issyk-Kul region. The agreement was signed by "Novawind Kyrgyzstan" and the RKDF at the Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum.

Design work has already begun, and the first components of the future wind farm have been delivered to Kyrgyzstan. This will be "Rosatom's" first wind energy facility in the republic. The corporation will handle the entire cycle – from design and construction to subsequent operation of the station.

The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund will help develop the investment and financial model of the project. The parties expect that the wind farm will strengthen the country's energy supply, attract new investments, and expand industrial cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

The project is being implemented by "Novawind Kyrgyzstan," a company registered in Kyrgyzstan and part of "Rosatom's" renewable energy division. In Russia, the corporation has already launched ten wind power plants with a total capacity of over 1.3 GW, and plans to bring the figure to approximately 2 GW by 2028.
