The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has for the first time issued an operator certificate for commercial air transportation using a free aerostat. The document was received by Electric Technology company, the agency's press service reported.

Flights will be operated under the "Open Sky" brand on a free aerostat AT104 model 902TA. The aircraft is designed to carry 5 people. Its manufacturer is Rusbal company.

Another aerostat has also been certified. It will be included in the Electric Technology operator certificate for flights over the Altai Republic.

A free aerostat is an aircraft that does not have its own propulsion system and moves due to air currents. Rusbal produces hot air balloons (which take off due to the lift of heated air inside a special envelope), gondolas, burners, and evacuation devices.
