The Arbitration Court of the Voronezh Region confirmed the legality of Rosprirodnadzor's order issued to the Voronezh production site of PAO "Il" branch, where Il-96 aircraft are manufactured. The inspection revealed 15 violations of environmental protection legislation requirements.

Inspectors found a lack of up-to-date emission and discharge standards, violations in the operation of gas treatment equipment, untimely updating of environmental documentation after enterprise reorganization, as well as comments on industrial environmental control.

Specialists also examined wastewater flowing into the Voronezh Reservoir. According to the inspection, exceedances of standards for a number of indicators were recorded, including petroleum products, ammonium, phosphates, iron, and copper.

Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev explained that the Il-96-400M with four PS-90A engines is not of interest to airlines that have already chosen Boeing and Airbus. In fact, this situation makes the airliner "unnecessary" in the domestic market.
