The number of applications for certification of marine equipment in the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) increases by 10% annually. Currently, there are manufacturers of systems and mechanisms for propulsion, control and communication on the market. This was stated by Alexey Timoshchuk, Head of the Technical Supervision Department in Industry and Shipbuilding of RS, at the conference "Shipbuilding – Strategy 2026".

Initially, Russian companies ordered the production of marine equipment under their own brand at facilities in China, but now assembly is being established in our country, Timoshchuk noted. At the same time, manufacturers are striving to increase the level of localization, he concluded.

In June 2025, the Marine Instrumentation Corporation (AO "KMP") was included in the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK). The KMP includes key enterprises specializing in the development and production of complex marine systems. These include the concerns "Morinformsystem-Agat", "Okeanpribor", NPO "Aurora" and TsNII "Elektropribor".
