At the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the throughput of the section where the volumetric part of the Yak-130 aircraft wing is assembled has been increased. After reviewing production processes, specialists reduced unnecessary movement of parts, decreased the number of control operations, and accelerated individual assembly stages.

The work was carried out in workshop 228 as part of lean production optimization. Analysis showed that one wing console traveled a route of over 7 kilometers within the enterprise during manufacturing. After changing logistics and organizing workplaces, this path was reduced by more than half.

Engineers also changed the order of several operations. In particular, the wing washing scheme and structural integrity check were revised, and painting work was moved to station S50 in the first bay of the aggregate-assembly production. This allowed for a more efficient sequence of manufacturing the detachable wing part.

Additional effect was achieved by modernizing technological procedures. The fuel tank leak test was accelerated by using a helium-air mixture, and some intermediate operations during bracket and harness installation were eliminated. The number of redundant control actions was reduced by almost half.
