Some films shown on board aircraft will be adapted for passengers with hearing impairments. This is stated in the order of the Russian Ministry of Transport, published on the official internet portal of legal information.
If the carrier shows films on board the aircraft, a part of the films determined by the carrier must have subtitles for passengers with hearing disabilities and audio descriptions.
The innovation will come into force on March 1, 2027. The remaining points of the order on the rules for serving passengers with disabilities will come into force on September 1, 2026.
In particular, the airline is obliged to inform a passenger with a disability about the rules for transporting a guide dog, reserve a seat free of charge, and provide assistance at the airport. Persons with disabilities are granted the right to carry prostheses free of charge. If an accompanying person needs to travel, a seat will also be provided to them free of charge.
