X Holding (which includes the private space company Bureau 1440) will launch a commercial service for Internet access on board airplanes. This was announced by the holding's CEO Alexey Shelobkov on the sidelines of the Telecom-2026 conference in Moscow.
We are continuing this work in parallel with the formation of the group, closely interacting with various design bureaus within the United Aircraft Corporation, as well as with Aeroflot.
Passengers on airplanes will be able to use the Internet as early as 2027. Testing individual scenarios will take about another six months, Shelobkov added.
Bureau 1440 plans to create the Rassvet low-orbit satellite constellation. With its help, broadband Internet access will be provided. On March 24, 2026, the company launched the first 16 devices into orbit.
