The story of the supply of low-quality bearings for the repair of the Project 1143.5 aircraft-carrying cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov" has received a new development. According to the investigation, the total damage from the supply of counterfeit products to enterprises of the defense-industrial complex could exceed 1 billion rubles.

In a separate episode related to the "Admiral Kuznetsov", the damage is estimated at approximately 306 million rubles.

The investigation believes that low-quality bearings of Chinese origin were supplied to the "Proletarsky Zavod" under the guise of Russian-made products.

They were intended for the aerofinisher - a system used to brake an aircraft when landing on a ship's deck.

At the same time, according to the investigation, "SPZ-4" could have been used not as a full-fledged production enterprise, but as a structure for legalizing imported products under the guise of Russian goods.

In July 2025, the "Admiral Kuznetsov" was planned to be mothballed. According to various estimates, about 100 billion rubles were spent on the ship. According to the latest information, the aircraft carrier is stuck motionless in Murmansk.
