Immediately after the adoption of the 21st package of EU sanctions, "Zolotaya Korona" clients lost the ability to transfer money to Georgia, writes "Kod Durova". The country no longer appears in the Korona Pay application, although it remained one of the system's key destinations.
Similar restrictions affected "Tsifra Bank": clients of "Freedom Bank Kazakhstan" received notifications about the temporary suspension of transfers through this service.
The reason is the freezing of assets of the "Zolotaya Korona" operator, the Novosibirsk RNKO "Payment Center", which is part of the "Center for Financial Technologies" group. The EU considered that the company acts as a clearing center for several payment systems.
In total, assets of 94 Russian banks have been frozen as part of the package, and a transactional ban has been extended to another 33 financial organizations, 14 crypto platforms, and a number of ports and airports. The St. Petersburg hosting provider Beget also fell under sanctions.
