Training programs for working with artificial intelligence have become one of the most in-demand areas of additional professional education, announced Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. Also in the top 3 were training for care assistants and manual arc welders – digital competencies are alongside applied professions on the same list.

By mid-July, over 93 thousand applications for free training had been approved, 72.7 thousand people had started classes, and 32 thousand had already completed their training. The largest number of participants are registered in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod, and Saratov regions. The training is conducted within the framework of the federal project "Active Employment Promotion Measures" and allows participants to acquire new qualifications or update their skills.

The combination of AI and blue-collar professions in one ranking indicates a structural shift: the economy simultaneously needs algorithm specialists and skilled manual workers. The fact that the state has begun to massively finance retraining precisely in these areas speaks to an attempt to fill the most acute personnel gaps – from digitalization to the social sphere.
