Interest in "smart" homes has sharply increased in Russia. In the first half of 2026, demand for the installation of such systems grew by more than three times compared to the same period in 2025. The main reason is the development of artificial intelligence, which has made home management simpler: modern systems no longer just turn on lights or regulate temperature on command, but can analyze human behavior, automatically change settings, and adapt to each family member.

The greatest interest is in smart curtains and motorized curtain rods, leak sensors, lighting, heating, and air conditioning systems. According to Avito Uslug, overall interest in home automation in 2026 tripled, and in some categories, demand increased six to nine times.

Previously, a smart home operated on simple scenarios like "turn on the light at 7:00 AM," but now, thanks to machine learning, it can predict the owner's needs in advance – for example, creating a comfortable microclimate taking into account the weather and schedule.

Among the most sought-after solutions remain security systems: video surveillance cameras, motion sensors, door and window opening sensors, smoke detectors, as well as leak protection, which can automatically shut off water in case of an accident. Demand for video intercoms and smart lamps is also growing on marketplaces. At the same time, experts note that the market is gradually moving from purchasing individual devices to creating a unified ecosystem.

Russia is developing its own smart home platforms, including "Dom s Alisoy" from Yandex, "Umny Dom Sber," and Rostelecom's solutions.

At the same time, demand for smart home infrastructure is growing. For example, interest in SIM cards for smart devices increased by 10% over the past three months. Experts note that wireless technologies are helping market development: now sensors, smart lights, and other devices can be installed even in already renovated apartments without laying new wires.

According to market participants' forecasts, in the coming years, the main direction will be the transition from individual smart devices to full-fledged platforms with artificial intelligence. According to experts, the Russian smart home market in 2026 could grow by 40–50% and exceed 45–48 billion rubles.
