The "Bars-Sarmat" unit has started using Yak-52 training aircraft as carriers for interceptor drones, according to the Telegram channel "Voevoda Veshchaet". The published footage shows a Yak-52 with six drone launchers, with the aircraft taking off with four drones.
The interceptors used are high-speed FPV drones of the Sting/P1-SUN form factor, adapted for launch from aerial platforms. In addition to the Yak-52, the An-2 is also used as a carrier, which, thanks to its larger internal space, allows for the placement of drone control equipment directly on board.
Earlier, the "Bars-Sarmat" unit reported plans to form an aviation squadron to combat drones based on light aircraft Yak-52 and Cessna 172. Initially, it was assumed that crews would consist of a pilot and a shooter with automatic weapons, but in the future, it is planned to abandon shooters in favor of interceptor drones on external pylons.
