First Drone Fighter Based on Yak-52 Created in Russia: The Sky is Locked

In the rear cockpit of the two-seater aircraft is a shooter with a Kalashnikov assault rifle

A separate flight detachment has appeared at the Bars-Sarmat Special Purpose Center to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Yak-52 aircraft, according to a former pilot, author of the Telegram channel Fighterbomber.

According to him, six aircraft have been found at the moment, and negotiations are underway for several more. There are also several spare engines, technicians and pilots.

He showed a video of the preparation for the flight of the first interceptor. The footage shows that instead of an instructor, a shooter with a Kalashnikov assault rifle equipped with a collimator sight sits in the rear cockpit of the two-seater Yak-52.

Over time, it is planned to equip the interceptors with turrets for reliable fixation of weapons for shooting down "violators".

As a result of the work carried out, the Yak-52 received a flight and navigation system, a new on-board computer, a means of fire destruction and a circular radar.

The aircraft is capable of performing flights at any time of the day, including in poor weather conditions. It is important that the Yak-52 has a certificate of airworthiness, i.e. it does not need to be subjected to lengthy flight tests.

Earlier www1.ru reported that footage of the flight of the X-101 strategic missile for the Tu-160 and Tu-95MS has appeared.
