Kazan Helicopter Plant built two new Mi-17V-5 transport-assault helicopters for Indonesia within the framework of military-technical cooperation between the countries. After control flights, the machines were officially adopted by the units.

Helicopters with tail numbers HA-5234 and HA-5235 were transferred to the 31st Assault Aviation Squadron of the Army at Ahmad Yani Air Base in Central Java province.

It should be noted that for KVZ, building helicopters for export is more profitable than for domestic customers. The profitability of foreign contracts reached 61.6%, while supplies to Russian operators brought only 17.4%.

The cost of production for the domestic market increased to 38.6 billion rubles, while export costs amounted to only 1.55 billion rubles.

This is probably due to more favorable contractual terms, while in the domestic market, key customers put significant pressure on margins.

Recall that the model range of the Kazan enterprise consists of Mi-8, Ansat, Mi-38, Mi-34. Earlier, lawsuits were filed against KVZ due to a debt of 881 million rubles.
