The Federal Antimonopoly Service has initiated a case against the Rusal group due to non-compliance with a warning regarding changes in pricing on the domestic market, according to the service's statement. If the violation is confirmed, the Rusal group will be subject to a turnover-based fine.
In March, the FAS issued a warning to Rusal about the need to adjust the pricing formula for the domestic market.
After that, Rusal twice petitioned for an extension of the deadline for its execution, but ultimately failed to comply with the service's requirements.
In this regard, the FAS of Russia initiated an antitrust case against the company on the grounds of imposing unfavorable conditions on Russian processors.
Rusal's products are in high demand in the aviation industry. The group supplies primary metal to specialized Russian metallurgical plants, which roll it into giant cladding sheets of the 2xxx series and profiles.
Finished parts are sent, for example, to the Irkutsk Aviation Plant for the MC-21 and the plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur for the SJ-100, where fuselages are assembled from them.
Earlier it became known that the cost of MC-21 and SJ-100 has sharply increased compared to prices three years ago.
