The project to build a plant for assembling light aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has encountered a new problem. The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic terminated the contract with the Moscow contractor "SpetsMontazh GSO" and is demanding through court the return of almost 966 million rubles, of which 918.9 million rubles is an unspent advance payment.
The contract, worth over 2.2 billion rubles, was signed in August 2024. The company was supposed to complete the construction of the production site by September 2026, but only a part of the obligations has been fulfilled.
With over 1.4 billion rubles transferred to the contractor, the volume of actually accepted work turned out to be significantly less than planned.
Against this background, the certification of "Baikal" has been postponed again — now until the end of 2027. UZGA began 150-hour tests of the VK-800 engine for the LMS-901.
