The Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia is developing a system for medical and biological support of manned interplanetary expeditions. The work is being carried out by the Center for Space Medicine and Biology.

Specialists are working on preparing cosmonauts for extreme conditions, preserving their health, and maintaining their performance during long-duration flights. This is not about a single device, but a whole complex of solutions for the crew.

The project is based on new technologies that allow medical systems to be evaluated not individually, but as a single circuit. It should include biological support, diagnostics, and therapy to timely detect changes in a person's condition and support them during the flight.

The topic is becoming increasingly relevant against the backdrop of Russian cosmonautics' plans beyond Earth's orbit. RKK "Energia" previously named the creation of a technological groundwork for flights to Mars and other planets as one of the key tasks for the development of manned programs.
