Buying a ticket for the desired flight is becoming increasingly difficult, and not just due to high demand. Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of the Aviaport agency, reported that Russian airlines are gradually facing a reduction in their available aircraft fleet, and it is currently impossible to quickly replace the retiring foreign Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
Andrey Patrakov, founder of the RunAvia service, reminds that deliveries of new foreign aircraft practically ceased back in 2022.
Meanwhile, the existing fleet continues to gradually shrink. According to his assessment, this trend will continue into 2026–2027.
However, a quick solution to the problem should not be expected. According to Panteleev's assessment, even after the start of serial production of the MC-21 and SJ-100, it will take several years for the industry to make up for the accumulated deficit.
Anna Vasilyeva, Project Manager at Strategy Partners, clarified that restrictions on the operation of some airports and infrastructural limitations also negatively affect the volume of air transportation.
