TMH-Electrotech has produced 400 AT2S-2800/400X traction units for 3TE28 mainline freight diesel locomotives. This milestone confirms the scale of serial production and the transition of new-generation locomotives to Russian components.
The company has been serially producing electric motors since 2023. They are part of the modernized 18-9DGM diesel-generator unit, developed by Kolomensky Zavod, and ensure the operation of DC traction motors through a rectifier, diesel engine start-up, power supply for auxiliary locomotive systems, and the traction unit excitation system.
The use of equipment produced by enterprises within the holding allowed for the transition to Russian components and a complete abandonment of foreign engines in the design of 3TE28 diesel locomotives.
Today, the company produces traction motors, generators, and units for 26 different types of railway rolling stock. At the same time, the development of new electrical machines continues, which should expand the range of domestic equipment for Russian locomotive manufacturing and strengthen the technological independence of the industry.
