Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the new domestic turboprop aircraft Il-114-300 will be especially in demand in the Far East. The head of state said this during a visit to aircraft manufacturing enterprises in Zhukovsky.
During the inspection of the Il-114-300, the president was informed that the first production aircraft are planned to be sent to northern routes. The next operator could be the Far Eastern airline "Aurora", which has already shown interest in the new machine.
It is more than in demand there. The distances are so great there.
Some airlines raised the question of the effectiveness of the Il-114-300 on unpaved surfaces due to the low position of the TV7-117ST-01 engines. But the problem was solved, as aviation expert Oleg Panteleev pointed out.
"Pervyy tekhnicheskiy" compared the Il-114-300 with the An-24 and found that the new model is in some ways inferior to the aircraft launched on routes back in the 70s of the last century.
