10 Minutes Saved: Yandex Go Blends Scooters with Metro in One Route

The app will decide where it's faster to ride and where to walk

The Yandex Go app has launched multimodal routes, combining scooter rentals and metro trips, the service's press office reported. Algorithms calculate the combination to reduce travel time and eliminate unnecessary transfers.

According to the company's estimates, this mix saves passengers an average of 10–15 minutes. Statistics confirm the demand: from March to August 2025, exactly half of all scooter trips in the capital ended directly at metro station entrances.

ML algorithms are responsible for route selection, sifting through over 100 factors – from the charge of the nearest scooter and the user's usual rental distance to traffic conditions and weather.

Currently, the feature only works in Moscow, but Yandex Go plans to scale it to other cities. Moreover, in the future, they intend to combine scooters not only with the subway but also with taxis, buses, and trams.

To enable the new mode, simply enter addresses in the app and go to the "All" section – the service will build the chain itself, and also allow you to rent a scooter and top up your "Troyka" card without jumping between screens.
