High-speed "namesake" of the icebreaker "Viktor Chernomyrdin" returned to its route along the Ob River

The A145 project planing vessel was built in 2013 in Zelenodolsk

The high-speed planing passenger vessel "Viktor Chernomyrdin" (Project A145), owned by AO "Severrechflot", has returned to its route along the Ob River after inter-seasonal inspection. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The inspection was carried out at the Severrechflot backwater in Khanty-Mansiysk, where inter-navigation lay-up of the fleet is organized, vessels undergo maintenance and are prepared for operation.

The motor ship was built in 2013 at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard (Tatarstan). The vessel is designed for transporting passengers along rivers during daylight hours.

The "Viktor Chernomyrdin" has a "namesake". The icebreaker of the same name was built at the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg in 2020.

Characteristics of the vessel "Viktor Chernomyrdin":

  • Length — 34.6 m
  • Width — 6.8 m
  • Board height — 2.5 m
  • Draft in planing mode — 0.7 m
  • Displacement — 80 t
  • Deadweight — 20 t
  • Speed — 40 knots (74 km/h)
  • Hull material — aluminum alloy
  • Passenger capacity — 150 people
  • Cruising range — 320 km

The main feature of Project A145 is a V-shaped bottom hull. When accelerating, the motor ship rises above the water and glides over its surface. The planing vessel stays afloat due to hydrodynamic pressure.

A total of 5 vessels were built under this project, of which 3 ("Viktor Chernomyrdin", "Rem Vyakhirev", and "Ak Bars") remained in Russia, and another 2 were sent to a customer in the UAE.
