Likhachev: The first unit of Akkuyu NPP has been completed

Rosatom has begun cold hydraulic tests of the reactor before commissioning operations

The construction of the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP has been completed, and the facility has moved to the final stage of preparation before commissioning. This was announced by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev during a visit to the nuclear power plant in Turkey.

According to the head of the state corporation, cold hydraulic tests of the reactor plant have already begun at the power unit. This stage will allow checking the tightness and operability of the main systems before subsequent commissioning operations. As Likhachev noted, the tests will take several weeks.

After their completion, specialists will have to conduct a final audit of the equipment and, if necessary, make adjustments to the program of the final preparation stage. Then the first power unit will proceed to commissioning operations, which precede the commissioning of the reactor.

Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" reported that welding work on the main circulation pipeline, one of the key elements of the primary circuit of the reactor plant, began at the second power unit of the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Turkey.
