At the Zaporizhzhia NPP, timely maintenance and repair of emergency diesel generators, which provide the station with backup power in case of complete loss of external electricity supply, continue. Work is carried out in normal and operational modes as needed, including urgent technical interventions outside the schedule. This was announced by the station director, Yuriy Chernichuk, emphasizing the stability of critical equipment maintenance.
According to him, all station systems, including backup power sources, are maintained according to established regulations since the launch of the power units. Scheduled repairs and diagnostics are carried out regularly, and in case of abnormal situations, engineering services proceed to immediate troubleshooting without waiting for scheduled deadlines.
It is separately noted that emergency diesel generators are designed to operate in transient and emergency modes and must provide a reliable power supply in case of external line disconnection.
Recall that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) faced a loss of external power supply due to the disconnection of the 330 kV "Ferrosplavnaya-1" high-voltage line. This was reported by station representatives on Thursday, June 11. The line, which supplied electricity for the ZNPP's own needs, was automatically de-energized on the evening of July 10.
