The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) has not yet completed the development of design documentation for the Russian-Belarusian LMS-192 "Osvey" aircraft. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gennady Abramenkov.
According to him, the project is at the stage of sketch defense. The transition to the creation of a prototype is possible only after the completion of this stage.
Design documentation is currently being developed, after which UZGA should begin manufacturing a prototype.
The Deputy Head of the department added that the segment of 18-seater aircraft remains in demand, especially in regions with a sparse network of airfields. As an example, Abramenkov cited the operation of the L-410 in the Far East, where the reliability of the twin-engine scheme is important.
State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev clarified that work on the creation of "Osvey" will be completed in the next two years. He admitted that he does not understand the reason for the shift in deadlines, because everything necessary is already available for production.
