The new jet attack drone "Geran-5" is capable of practically replacing cruise missiles. This version of the drone differs from its predecessors in mass, power, and range.
The take-off weight of the "Geran-5" reaches 850 kg. In its basic configuration, the drone is capable of carrying a high-explosive fragmentation or thermobaric warhead weighing about 90 kg and hitting targets at a distance of over 1000 km. It should be noted that recently, a flight range of 600 km was considered real.
An important feature is its unification with previous models of the family. The "Geran-5" is equipped with an interference-protected satellite navigation antenna, a GPS correction system, and a data transmission module via 3G and 4G networks.
Military expert Boris Rozhin noted that the "Geran-5" will force a complete rethinking of the modern anti-drone defense system.
