The Russian reactive drone "Geranium-5" is capable of hitting targets at a range of more than 600 km, while previously figures of up to 1000 km were mentioned. The characteristics of the device were revealed by the Telegram channel "Stalin's Falcons".
This channel covers the combat use of "Geraniums". The version of the drone with the letter "5" is sometimes positioned as a drone missile, it carries a warhead weighing more than 60 kg.
The jet engine provides a speed of more than 350 km/h. Machine vision algorithms are used to aim at the target.
The device also uses pseudo-random tuning of the operating frequency, which increases resistance to electronic warfare.
We emphasize that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not officially reported on the use of "Geranium-5". However, specialized resources stated that the drone has a flight range of up to 1000 km and a warhead weighing about 90 kg.
