Frigates of Project 11356 purchased by India from Russia have been rearmed

Project 11356 frigates in the Indian Navy, originally built for the Russian Navy under the names "Admiral Butakov" and "Admiral Istomin," have received BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles. This was announced by Alexander Maksichev, co-director of the Russian-Indian enterprise BrahMos.

According to him, two more ships, currently being completed in India, will also receive this complex.

The arming of Indian Navy ships with BrahMos missiles continues. The first two Project 11356 frigates, purchased from Russia, are also already armed with these missiles.

Recall that Russia and India concluded a contract for four Project 11356 frigates in 2018. Two ships have already been delivered, and two more are being built at Indian shipyards.

Andrey Puchkov, CEO of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, stated that USC's competencies allow for the development of military-technical cooperation with foreign partners.
