Su-34s with "Sych" complexes can significantly enhance the reconnaissance capabilities of the Russian Aerospace Forces

Equipping Su-34 aircraft with containerized reconnaissance complexes of the "Sych" family can significantly increase the effectiveness of the reconnaissance and strike contour of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This effect may be particularly noticeable against the backdrop of the currently limited capabilities of the orbital constellation of reconnaissance satellites. This conclusion was reached by the authors of the Telegram channel "Voennaya Khronika".

According to the channel's authors, the Su-34 can become a more widespread and operational platform for performing reconnaissance tasks compared to the specialized Tu-214R. Analysts believe that the high speed of deployment to the desired area and the ongoing serial production of aircraft of this type allow for a relatively rapid increase in their numbers in the troops.

Experts paid special attention to the container complexes of the "Sych" line. According to their data, the UKR-RT modification, designed for radio-technical reconnaissance, reached initial operational capability. The authors of the publication believe that the complex is capable of detecting radio emission sources, analyzing their operating parameters, classifying targets, and transmitting information for subsequent destruction.

In "Voennaya Khronika", it is assumed that when operating at high altitudes, the Su-34 with the UKR-RT container can detect enemy radar stations at a distance of up to 500 kilometers. As examples, analysts cite Patriot anti-aircraft missile system radars, various types of detection stations, and electronic warfare equipment.

Another important element of the "Sych" family, according to the channel's authors, is the UKR-RL container for radar reconnaissance. As noted in the publication, the complex is presumably equipped with a side-looking radar capable of detecting armored vehicles at a distance of up to 150 kilometers, and large group targets at a distance of over 200 kilometers. The possibility of working on moving objects with the transmission of coordinates to strike assets is also allowed.

Separately, analysts highlight the UKR-OE optoelectronic complex. According to their assessment, it is capable of searching for and identifying targets in various weather conditions and at any time of day. At the same time, the detection range in favorable conditions can exceed 100 kilometers.
