PAO "Ilyushin" has 100% import-substituted parts for its entire aircraft lineup, including the Il-96. Now, the company intends to make a sharp leap in increasing production volumes, said Daniil Brennerman, CEO of the aviation complex.
This includes not only the Il-76, Il-78, but also the Il-114 and the 96th aircraft, which is supplied for the customer's operational needs.
According to him, the enterprise is starting a technical re-equipment project at the Ulyanovsk branch "Aviastar".
Our task is to double production in the short term, and by the end of the current decade, to triple the volume of aircraft production... As for import substitution, there is certainly something to be proud of here.
Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev explained that the Il-96-400M is initially unattractive to airlines that have already chosen Boeing and Airbus in this transportation segment. In fact, this situation makes the airliner illiquid in the domestic market.
